“Darwin has been a hero and inspiration to me since I first read the Origin of Species when I was sixteen… I was somewhat frustrated with the constant depiction of Darwin as an elderly man, when he did so much amazing work and made so many great discoveries before the age of thirty… This statue depicts Darwin as he was in his final year at Christ’s College, dreaming about the adventures and discoveries that lay ahead of him.”
